The wider area around the settlement of High Morlaggan has been surveyed by ACFA (the Association of Certificated Field Archaeologists), using an electronic distance-measuring device (EDM)

The main settlement and associated fields, as well as several of the individual features within the head dyke, have been surveyed by MRSG using a plane table and alidade, following training by members of the Scotland’s Rural Past team.
